door open light

i noticed that our cars(mine) doesn't have a "door open" light..any ideas or diy on how to put/install them? like a red lead perhaps? coz sometimes i forget that one of my doors is half closed(i have a sedan) and i'm worried that it might open while im driving... thanks in advance

Doesn't your domelight stay on when you don't close your door completely shut?

i havent seen the inside of a sedan but most of the time there is a swtich in the middle of the dome a light...one that slide...usually 3 spots..one is always on, one is on when the door is open and one is off.

word... Otherwise there is no door open light in your dash unless you want to tap the dome light and run an LED into your dash to remind you... I think it would be pointless though.

yeah but i don't like my domelights to be that way.. coz sometimes i forget to lock the door(when in the garage) and i end up cussing the next day.. that's why i don't use the dome lights(when u switch it to auto)....

but the dome light shuts off eventually on the auto setting even if the door is open. if i leave the doors open when i'm cleaning, the light is off when i'm all done (it might take 10 minutes but it does shut off). btw, sedans have the same light as coupes.
