Ported or Sealed with my setup?
The best way to determine an enclosure for a specific sub is look at the Thiel-Small parameters. Certain drivers work best with certain enclosures. Some work well in multiple enclosure types, others don't. I couldn't find the TS parameters for your driver so I can't offer an opinion.

I'd like to see a sealed enclosure give you more trunk space then my ported one for 3 12's.
The trunk floor isn't finished yet but you'll get the idea.

It's a matter of personal preference. If you like tighter, more defined bass, then a sealed enclosure will give you this. However, the ported box will be louder, and needs less power to be loud. So, if you want a booming sub, then a ported is better. Both box types have other pros/cons, but to me, sound quality is of paramount importance.

-ported-
pro-
1will get louder than sealed
2lower bass handling
3less power from amp needed
con-
1takes up more space
2if you build the ports yourself, you'll have to round the edges to prevent whistling
3heavier
4you have to have a subsonic filter
-sealed-
pros
1lighter
2smaller
3more trunk space
cons
1not as loud
2won't get as low in bass as easily as ported
3takes a more powerful amp
disreguard the amp power deal, as since you aren't doing a competition you won't really notice any differences...

Wdwmilo.... you built boxes and you're recommending one box versus another. You've never worked for a shop have you? There is no better box, or magic box, or best box. If there was, then every competitor would run the same box. Fact is, it's personal preference. PS, this is an old *** post, how'd it get on the front page of the ice forum?
