check yoru radio, does it have RCA inputs? eclipse, for example, makes radio's with specific inputs, and some radios like pioneer only have inputs that play through non-amplified speakers. other radios dont have them at all.

if you want a universal solution, get an FM modulator, and you cna hook your PS2 audio to any source with an antenna.

Indeed. . . what kind of head unit are you using? If it's Pioneer or Alpine, you'll be wise to get an RCA-Ip Bus or RCA-AI Net (depending on the brand you have) adapter.

If it's another brand, check to see if they have a similar adapter. That'll make both the connection and the sound quality much better. Otherwise, as WR said, go for the modulator. . . it'll work on any deck.

do you have any aftermarket amplifiers?

pioneer doesnt have inputs on teh radio itself unless your not using any aftermarket amplifiers.

if you are, you have to buy a separate RCA input module that plugs into the P-bus (blue) connector

If you have a Pioneer deck this is what you will need. I just did this with my screen, Ps2, and Pionner Premier series deck.

What the problem is with the Pioneer decks is that there is no place to put the RCA's into to get sound running through all speakers as well as subs. What you need to do is get an AUX adapter that plugs right into the back of your deck into the CD changer slot. Go to any car audio shop and ask them what part you are looking for. It's a VERY hard part to find. This is because not to many people request to buy them and they must get them directly from the manufacturer; Pioneer.

Stay away from the FM modulator. I personally think the AUX line for the Pionner deck is the most reliable to put sound out through all speakers including the subs.

Since you are from NY like myself, and have the chance to go into NYC, visit the car audio stores on Canal Street. The dealer cost for the AUX adapter is $25. Remember that while shopping around. Stores on Long Island tried to sell me the same part for 75$, so watch out. Pay no more than $40 for the AUX adapter. And Yes, if you don't like to haggle you can find it on Ebay for $50 I believe.

The make two versions of the AUX adapter, one with an extra line for a CD changer, and one without. I bought the one without that feature because I have no intensions of ever running a CD changer. Both Pioneer AUX adapters are equally good, so the choice is up to you.

Better yet, go to www.etronics.com and look for either the CD-RB10 or CD-RB20.

The first is the aux adapter you need.
The second is the same thing, but has IP-throughput, allowing the later addition of a CD changer, etc to your deck.

They are priced $30 and $49, respectively.

Nice thing for you is, since you live in NY, you can go directly to their store at:

37 Essex St
NYC

Ordering it online, it should reach you in no time, and these are both accessories they STOCK at all times.

Good luck, my man.

it comes through when you set the deck to aux. as soon as you plug the thing in to the deck, when you press the func button, it will let you go to aux as well as cd and tuner

The sound will come out of all your speakers when you select the AUX mode. You manually have to enable the AUX mode in the HU's presets. Read the manual and it will tell you how to do it. Your deck is not set up to usually go to the AUX mode if there is no extranious sources running to your deck.

The great think about cycling through the sources, after you enabled the AUX mode, is that you can watch a DVD (like an extreme sports DVD; something thats cool to look at when cruising at night) and listen to an Audio CD as well, with the push of a button from AUX to Compact Disk.

You don't even need a "Brain" if you are just using one Stand Alone Monitor!

AUX only works with the speakers run off the radio directly, like i explained in my first posts.

so if he has an aftermarket amplifier, he can use splitters, or he will have to use the P-bus adapter... or an FM modulator
