Car Alarms

Hey wassup...im just curious as to which alarm everyone thinks is the best...and which are the major necessary functions that have to be included in an alarm that you would get...cuz i was thinkin how you take a flat thin metal bar..slide it in the passenger front hood (where the batter is) pop it upand with enough force it would disconnect the wire to the battery and if ur alarm is hooked to ur battery...bam ur alarm is of no use...iono if im makin much sense...but are there alarms that are hooked up to anothe power source other than the battery

sliding the bar under the hood to disconnect the battery might work, but what about those people with hood triggers like myself

I don't know if there are any alarms you can buy like that, but its definitely possible to buy something seperate like that to hook up to the alarm system instead of the regular siren. I wouldn't know where to get something like that though.

there are people who put have alarms in the spare tire area, with a battery so that it is harder for the thieves to cut off the alarm, and if they do attempt to, it will take them alot longer than if the alarm was in the front.

I have a viper with proximity sensor (cool, but waste of money) and backup battery. Make sure you get one that covers all the zones--doors, trunk, and hood.

yea, you can get a back-up battery for ur alarm. its about the size of a sandwich (well mine is) and its powers ur alarm if it should get disconnected from your battery, so ur alarm will still work and sound.

Yes there is a alarm that lets you program a saying into it. My friend has one. I cannot remember the name of it, but there is one on the market.

www.dei.com look up sirens, its a voice module and you can hook up a mic to it and program your own message or use it as a PA system.

I've been looking into getting an alarm as well ..

Anybody know the major differences between these two alarms:

Clarion Ungo MS2007
Viper 790XV

They're both about the same price, and I've read the features on both of them, but maybe someone here as a better knowledge of alarms and knows which one is better, or if one company sucks *** at making alarms. I'm kinda leaning towards the viper, since it appears to have a lot more features, and just cause it sounds cooler. But whatever ...

Thanks

Python pager remote alarm, Just had it installed rim tilt sensors window and sunroof roll up, hood and trunk pins, It also sends a signal to the remote so that you know that the alarm is actavated. It has it all even silent mode AAAAAAA+++
