Kicker??
Kicker??
I just sold my type r 12" alpine and want to buy a kicker 12" solobaric L5. So I need an amp I want to buy kicker's KX600.1. Would this set up work and if not which kicker amp would be good. One more thing I recenly installed 6 1/5 alpine type r components and 6x9's. I will buy an amp soon and want either kicker or alpine which would be better and which amp would be good amp (watts and ohms?).

use the power rating of the speakers to decide the amp. get the dual 4 ohm L5 if you want to use the 600.1 and wire the coils in parallel (the manual will show you how to do this).
a 4 channel amp providing 50W RMS would be a fine choice to amplify all your speakers, both alpine and kicker will have something in that range.

Screw kicker amps! I have two that I bought a while back from a guy on this site. They were working fine, and now, after a little use in the car and hitting a few bumps while riding on my 18's, the plug-in modules (ZR Amps) are loose and the speakers cut out. They want around $120 to fix them, plus I have to pay shipping. I'd go with MTX amps, which I'm doing right now. If you want a ZR360 to push them that might need a little jimmy rigging or $50-60 in service, let me know.
Just my opinion, since they won't fix my **** for free because of their cheap PLASTIC design.
