Hey wassup i just recently picked up 2 10" kicker solobaric L5 for 175 (is that a good deal? or did i get jipped...and do those subs hit hard)...im just curious as to what kind of amp i should get...and whether or not it will sound clean if i were to do the custom spare tire enclosure ( subs will be in place of the spare tire) or should i just use a box for the 2 10s...any feedback will be appreciated

I'm really not sure what a good amp to use would be, but as for the subs, 175 isn't bad for a pair of 10's, and they should have some pretty decent thump to them. As for the trunk floor, are you sure you can fit them in? Personally, I'd just keep the box(es) they were in, at least then you know what you're working with.

the square kickers can pound in a small enclosure very nicely. if you can fit them, they can get loud. you'll probably want 250-300RMS to each for really loud, look for an amp that can give you that with whatever impedence your voice coils end up being.
If you can. Match them to a Kicker 400.1! Brand specific means something. You don't think they run their subs with Sony amps in the lab do you...No they probably use their amps!
The new Kickers are out I believe. They're NICE!

It is really install dependent: placement, sound deadning, power, and (most importantly) box type/specs. He had them in a sealed box, and a ported box may be an option if you want them to get really loud...but it would require a larger box and an infrasonic filter.
I think you live out in the Inland Empire area? Check out the Fry's in Industry if you live near there. They usually have Solo Barics on display that you can play with, but they are usually in a pre-made kicker box (which is prolly ideally set-up to hit hard, and is a perfectly matched box for SPL).
Regardless, I think they are good subs...I would prefer 12"s or 15"s though to get that deep bass, but that is me. Solo 10"s prolly have an equal service area to a typical 12 inch anyway, so I don't know how valid my point is on that. I think that the Solos are Neo magnents so they are prolly pretty light too if your car is set-up for performance.
