Hello, which engine is better to put in and cheaper than a type r 2019?

Hello, I hope you guys are safe from all the madness, I was just wondering if there is a better engine for a 2012 9th gen Honda Civic Ex 1.8L than the type r engine for a swap? I am looking at the EX 2.0 turbo Engine for a swap and also an Si engine swap in the future but wanted to know which engine you recommend I put in there?. Also can you go from automatic to standard because my car as it is right now is automatic and I was wondering if it can be turned into a manual drive vehicle? Also which automatic swap would be the greatest for the 2012 Honda Civic ex 1.8L V-tec? Thanks Huge for your response.

Cheers!

Way too much integrated electronics and costs. Way easier and cheaper to just buy the correct vehicle

k24z7 came in that chassis (9th gen si). I'd go with that. Since you'd end up doing a transmission swap anyways, you can do the AT to MT swap at the same time.

Lol hey, do you know which V8 rwd swap would work? I'm thinking the corvette engine would work (C6), or what do you think?

Sure thing. Just need to get busy with a welder and a sawzall to make some room for it.

I think this is one of those times where if you have to ask there's a 0% chance of you having the knowledge to actually do it. That would take some serious custom work.

Re: Hello, which engine is better to put in and cheaper than a type r 2019?

The EX/Si thing stopped after the 7th gen civics. The Canadian Si is the same as the American one from 2006 onwards (engine-wise, anyway).

Type R's are the same, and I heard somewhere that you can get a crate K20C1 (that's the Type R engine code, right?) + turbo and wiring harness from Honda for $5000 USD shipped. That seems like a smoking deal to me if it's true. I'm not sure that's the platform I'd swap a Type R engine into (or do any engine swap for that matter), but to each their own. I'd go with Colin here; buy a different car.
