a hypothetical question...

i was just wondering something, i don't think it has been discussed before, if it has, sorry, i've searched around the forums, but lets just say next week, an si engine swap came out, and ehh...its really cheap....and a turbocharger came out at the same time, but it was for the d16 engine, which would you do? turbo the current engine? or swap in an si engine? it just came to mind as another 6th gen site was discussing it...what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

me personally, engine swap. cuz you already get a increase amount of hp. second you can alway put a t/s on the new engine. and if that engine blows ou can always put the old engine back in and sell the car or well you know.... i won't swap into an si engine but a k20a2 engine.

i was just thinking si swap, b/c it's cheaper and all, but i heard that if you do a legal engine swap something about the VIN numbers not matching up will make it illegal or something? anyways here's the ongoing discussion clickie

when VIN's don't match, that's why you have the papers to prove you did a swap.

and as for me, i'd go w/ the swap, because it's more reliable.
