CAI

Ok guys and girls I need some help about an intake system for my civic. I have an injen short ram intake, and this one girl I know sold her civic today, and she took her cold air intake which is a injen as well. My problem is I am afraid that I will suck in water when i starts raining? I have two friends told me the only way i can suck water in my engine is if I submerger my filter. Ok to get back at my question which I have searched and read some threads tonight about it but I am still unsure. Are cold air intakes just as safe as long as you don't submerge it in water?? help out a confused civic owner.

Yes the cold air intake should be safe as long as its not submerged in water. If it's always raining/flooding where you are then get an AEM by pass valve for the intake.

Unless you drive thru puddles that are up to the floor of your car, you won't have a problem. The bypass valve IMO is worthless. Splashing water (due to rain and what-not) will do any damage. Unless they have monsoons in VA, you'll be just fine with just the CAI.
I've driven my Vic thru winters in Boston and now I'm in FL (rain) and no problems.

ya i think people forget, the intake is a couple feet above the ground and is blockedby the bumper, its not face down 2 inches above the ground. dont waste your money.
