What about the Flowmaster???
I am not sure about exhausts, so I wanted to get some opinions. I was looking on performancecenter.com about exhausts and I saw the Flowmaster. I am stuck between the Magnaflow or if I can afford it, the Tanabe. But why does the Flowmaster have a higher HP gain and torque gain? Is it good or no. Thanks for all the info guys.

I've never seen the flowmaster before but i'm very pleased with my Magnaflow cat-back. It's easy to install yourself and it doesn't give that loud obnoxious sound.

hmm I dint even know flowmaster made exhausts for our cars. But, Ive heard good and bad things about the magnaflow. Just check around the marketplace or groupbuy. People got theirs for only $300 shipped.
I dunno about Flowmaster for Civics, but I have a Flowmaster muffler on my Firebird and it's still in great shape after 7 years. It's just a little louder and mellow now.
Flowmaster on PerformanceCenter.com
Great price.

I dunno about that I had it on my Passport which was a V6 and it sounded nice on the high end but quiet when cruising which was just right.

My friend has an SC'd V6 GTP with dual Flowmasters at the end of custom piping and that thing sounds mean. I get jealous everytime he starts his car. But if I had to deal with that going 60 on the highway, I'd trade my car in.
lol flowmasters on a civic, thats ****ing hilarious. look at the picture. it looks like ****.
and why would you want a unique hot rod type sound on a I4? and i honestly doubt it adds up to 15 hp. thats ridiculous.

I'd rather have that flowmaster exhaust on my car than some farty muffler that's as big as my torso.

Are you kidding me? The flowmaster exhaust looks better than all those stupid four inch tips that people put on their Civics. Anything above 2 1/4 for an exhaust tip is too big. Everyone says rice is "anything that looks performance but isn't." Guess what huge tips are... rice.

Actually, I don't mind altezzas as long as they're easy to see during the day. And, seeing that this is a Civic site, my comments were directed towards Civics. If a Z06 had five inch exhaust tips, it'd be okay, coz they're called for. Big exhaust tips on a Civic are just to call attn to oneself.

One of the things I've heard is that with flowmaster, to get that deeper tone, you sacrifice flow - because of the inverted chevrons in the flow path. That's what is supposed to give the muffler its deeper tone.
Not sure how they are designed for the civic though, since most of the cans are straight through designs (henceforth the "fart in a can" mentality)......

magnaflow or tanabe.... thats an easy question with an easy answer. Magnaflow is 200$ less, gets better performance and is made of better quality... it is endorsed by Micheal Andretti (the best race car driver god ever made). Don't listen to all these Tanable Family people, there is no reason a cat-back exhaust system should cost 500+$
