I don't see any problem. It's not gonna hurt your car. But that annoying check engine light will be on, that's all.
Shoulddn't be a problem except if something else goes wrong with your motor you just won't know it cause the light will already be on.

Read this: Building an O2 Sensor Simulator
I did not need one. I got a CEL after the 2nd long trip and didn't bother with it for 4 days and it went away. Im not sure why, maybe the ECU just needs to adjust. I have reset my ECU maybe 5 or 6 times since (for other mods, not to get rid of the CEL) and it hasn't come back yet (maybe 4 months now). So i would wait it out for a week and see if it goes away, if it doesnt then get the sim, but it could save you that 50 bux...
yes you need it. i just ordered mine through Lake Effect PErformance for $44.00 plus $4.50 shipping. Talk to john. he is very helpful. The best part is that this ECU Sim is installed next to your OEM ECU and it includes wiring schematics for out 7th gen's too.
here is the link. I will be recieving mine on Monday.. i will let you guys know how the install went. John said it would take approx 5 minutes to hook up once the ECU is located.(behind the glove box)

SO does this just plug into the factory O2 sim harness or it located somwehere else
i never took mine out of the factory cat so noting is connected to my O2 sensor
is this bad??
i didn't think it would be and the light doesn't bother me cause the gas light comes on just as much as the CHK ENGINE light so it creates a balance in the cluster

I just installed the racing down-pipe today. The down-pipe gives the car little bit more deep tone sound to it; you can't even tell that you have it on . In the performance side of it, it gives more throttle response and more high end torque. I'll post more after i go to the tracks.
