has anyone DIY heated seats?

Wondering if anyone has done this. I've got a connection who will run the wiring for the front seats for a good price. Once the fabric is off, I will replace w/ leather soooo, i'm trying to get some research info before i just have the guy do it. Also, do you guys know what voltage that requires? I've got a few additional ICE products hooked up and how long before I should upgrade alternator or battery, etc? I've got OEM replica lights also to add this spring which alone are an additional 55w, system, & then this circuit for the seats, is it too much of a drain?

thanks for the info ------ D

i don't know where you're from, but it's -8? right now here in boston w/ the wind chill. Temp alone is only 2?
I always thought they were a gimmic, but I rented a Caddy that had them, and now I want it, especially with the cold weather around here....

Hey bluestreak, im from southern NH. have you gone to any of the meets that Grey throws? I've been to one, they're alotta fun, missed the last one though (damn!) anyway, PM me if you'd like to go to one one time. As for this topic....Being from NE, seat heaters would be great, I wonder how hard it would be? I'll have to look into it. See ya

thanks for rubbing in in, i tried to wash my car last weekend and the water literally froze before I could begin to dry it. THIS WEATHER SUCKS ***.........between that and the damn pot holes, it's nearly impossible to have a nice car in NE!!!!
I noticed I cracked my OEM Side skirt on a pot hole last week, forget lowering my car, unless I was to move, the roads here SUCK.
At least my AZZ could be warm w/ the heated seats, right?

Heated seats are nice because they are usually warm long before the engine gets up to temp. I know that didn't help but I had to say it. lol

Just go to a junk yard and find a recked car with heated seats and tear out the heating element in them and put them in yours. or just buy the seats and take them home and then tear the stuff out of them. That way you would be able to see how they set up the heat in the seats and do yours likewise. Good luck

Heated seats would be pretty sweet if I end up getting some leather seats. But yeah, you should check out the NE forum. We meet at least once every 3 weeks for installs and such. Grey and a DIY king so he could probably figure out some stuff for you.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I have OEM leather seats to install, and was thinking of setting up some heating configuration...

Hmmmm.

Lions Auto out of Omaha, NE sells and installs.

that's a great link man, i think I could do a DIY on it, or whoever does my leather seats (I haven't even found a site where I'd buy the leather from yet) could install them. I've gotta find sedan leather covers w/ (4) door panels and I'd like to upgrade to the "wide" armrest, so I'd need the leather cover for that too.....thanks for the link

Just do what I do....

Eat a LOT of protein all the time, and when you are in your car just fart alot, it's temporarily warming if you don't mind the odor.
