Passport 7500 Radar Detectors, or other Passport owners

I have a Passport 7500 Radar Detector....its a couple years old. No matter what setting i put it on, Auto, Highway, or City, it Always has the KA | band thing beeping. I dont know what KA band is, but its always on. It seems like it doesnt work like it is suppose to. I dunno how to reset it or what to do? It only picks up cops every once in a while barely ever. and this thing was like 300$ a couple years back...its suppose to pick up cops and it doesnt lol... anybody run into a same problem or know how i can reset it so it doesnt always display the stupid KA band thing..? Thanks in advance

cheers
the baller

i have an 8500. works great. you probably need to have it serviced by escort. email them for a price. that or shut off the Ka band if it's not used in your area.

This is going to sound funny, but buy a new cord. I had a friend who had a 7500 and it would constantly reset itself, I told him to buy a new cord and it works like new now. Mine (8500) on occasion would do the same, i can feel the cord is loose, try a new cod it could be a cheap 20$ fix.

if you think that's it, get a replacement, and try the replacement's cord on your unit. if it works, return it and buy the cord. I think you can only get the cords direct from escort, so if it doesn't work, you're gonna lose money on shipping.

I have a 7500 and it works fine. However like the guy said, if there is an intermittent disonnect it wil keep beeping.

I was sitting in the grocery stor parking lot the other day and the Escort went off and said "Train Nearby". I never saw that one before. It has gone off on "Road Hazard" before though.
