RSX shift knob cured rough shifting
RSX shift **** cured rough shifting
just picked up my new oem RSX shift **** at the acura dealer, and like everyone has said, it is great. it fits perfectly, is considerably shorter, and looks alot better. the main benefit for me though is that the 1st to 2nd gear shift is smooth now, whereas before it was often a little rough (could feel the gears ) at times. not to mention it's quicker too. everyone should get one, it's more than worth the $31.70 i spent on it.
i would think about buying that except that since i hold my hands at 9 and 3 all the time, my hands gets sweaty sometimes. i cup-palm shift so i dont want my sweat to make my hand slide off the ****.
if you need a shorter shifter to actually drive a manual...then buy an obx short shifter...or take a hacksaw to it...rap with blue electrical tape(makes it go faster) then acquire gold marker to inscribe acura signia...either that or learn how to drive a stick...just my two cents...

The reason (at least it should be) why you would want a short shifter is to reduce the actual distance of each shift throw. The best short shifters allow adjustment of fore-aft and sideways throws.
No offense meant, I just found this kinda funny.
"What I'm not understanding is how a SHIFT **** made your gear transactions smoother. That sounds like a bunch of retardation to me."
Likely you weren't paying attention. Go back and read that first post again. Try to concentrate.

shifting FEEL.
**** helps in it.
I got the Neuspeed adapter for the shifting FEEL.. not the shorter distance.. all those short shifters, I dont think they can shorten it much...
its so much smoother in stock form, it feels like butter! but the neuspeed works good if u grease it up too...
I duno, I think most people should get it for the feel.. not for the fact that it reduce the throws, because u can only do so much to the shifter aseembly and shorten the pivot point... the real bottleneck is in the way the actual cable shifter is setup...
I may take out the Neuspeed one day, and go back to stock. Its sooo smooth. man. I think its time to grease up the Neuspeed some more though.

if you honestly think that a short shifter is going to make you faster at all...then two things...first: grab towards the bottom of the shifter and it will act like a short shifter and will only cost you about 1 calorie to move your hand...second: if you really want to go faster in gears CHANGE THE GEAR RATIO...just my two cents..

this gives the speed of a short shifter along with the smooth transition. and with a stock "high" shift ****, your arm has to travel less to get to the shifter.
