dash redone

not sure what topic this should be under so here it goes,,,when i was trying to remove my stereo and ac controls to paint the main piece,,it was dark and i was angry and i kinda got carried away on my dash with a screwdriver ,,after figuring out what i was doing wrong i got everyhting taken care of and now i got all these fugly scrathes and scrapes around the middle of the dash,,so i was wondering whoever out there got there dash redone did you get it completely redone with new material or did you get the existing dash died or painted or what? i tried the search but it was useless,,,oh yea and anyone have their back decks painted,,if so professionally or at home? thankxc a bunc

sorry i had just woken up and wasnt quite fully functional,,,when i say dash i mean everything except the plastic paintablle pieces,,,the screwdriver gave the vinylish stuff that covers my dash an a$$ kicking so i w as wondering how and were i could get my dash reupholstered i think youd call it or died or something to fix it

I believe the skin on the dash is moulded on when the dash is moulded. However there may be some custom dash covers out there if you shop around. I don't know if paint is going to cover the type of damage you are talking about.

If you fugged it up too bad which it sounds like you did i say get that 3m stuffand do it that way and next DONT do a DIY when your out of it its like changin the oil when your wasted it NOT a good idea other wise if you didnt freak it up too bad sand it down till you get most of the bad stuff out then paint it with SEVERAL coats of paint the clear coat it

bartkat has the right idea,,thats what i want,,,just the vinyl stuff ,,,ive seen some people cars here with white dash and stuff,,not the painted platic but the actually vinyl,,oh well,,,ill keep loking
