New HP Header Question
Ok everyone that has one say they love them. But the fact is that they have alot of issues cant get them to fit without mods even the new release is not perfected. And why in the hell in every picture is the bung for the o2 sensor reading one cylinder on the upper section. If it is supposed to be so great why are there so many problems and why is it so much better than dc sports just cause the high flow cat and if thats the problem isnt there a place for us to by a high flow cat. And I did search and have not seen anything on these topics
well, i have an hp header. its good because it flows better than the dc. the hp header has problems w/ the check engine light coming on but it isnt a problem if you buy an o2 simulator and. i guess people would choose dc over the hp header is because hp isnt carb extempt and you dont have to trim the motor mount.i didnt have to trim the motormount. mine fit perfectly on to the block but i ditched the hi-flow cat and have no cat now.
i have the hp header and like it. my check engine light is on but it's sending a "cat ineffiecency" code which won't affect the way your engine runs because it's not sensing a misfire. also, the motor mount that has to be trimed is the front torque strut which won't affect anything. i would definetly choose hp over dc.
I have the hp header, the tubes are much larger than DC's, pipes are straighter... and it's not just a top piece. if you get the DC header, you're looking at 3hp difference. The cat extension is there simply because we can't have regular 4-2-1 or 4-1 headers without the cat extension because there is a part of the down pipe that is welded instead of bolted like an other cars. So, either get the HP header, or get dc's cuz it's easy. I love the power i feel in mine.. gives a bigger increase in power than any of my mods.

I'm just not into intakes.
heh. actually I like intakes, they're fine. they sound great! but I dont really need it these days. (especially a SRI, I mean, when I have extra money to burn one day, I'll buy a CAI or something, but for now, stock's better for me as a daily driver.) I'm just interested in the HP header since there's so much hype on it. and I really do think the stock exhaust system is kinda g-a-y... (before the cat, anyway) cat-back, I think the stock exhaust system is not that restrictive at all, but from the header to the cat, Honda did something to make this a ULEV, and I think the cat convertor is probably a big bottleneck.
I'm into mods, I just want those that function more than look good.
I mean I'm planning to get an Apexi WS if it ever comes out.. and eventually lower the car with spring/shocks or full coilovers..
and hey, one day when I have money coming outta my a$$, I'll drop in the K20 engine like htown.
