JG short shifter, watch out!!!!
i recently bought a jg short shifter through my dealer and it wasnt even the right kind. it is a shifter from the past civics not like the ones we have now. my dealers contact say that it would work and other website say it would work too. be careful dont get the JG edelbrock or the type R short shifter they dont work for our civics.

we have the cable-type tranny, not the rod-type like previous civics/tegs.
your only options:
-short shifter adaptors (DC, SOLO, and neuspeed)
-REVO short shifter assembly

Man go to ebay and there's a guy selling a short shifter for our civics for less than $50. Its a knock off from japan but nobody will notice and im real happy with it, plus 1/2 the price of the DC sports one you can't go wrong. Installation is supper easy too.

the revo, if anything, will make it stiffer..
for my neuspeed adapter.. things got stiffer.. but I'm either use to it now or it loosen up.
get the revo if you want to have shorten stick...
get the adapters if you dont.. for adapters, I suggest neuspeed over solo or dc since it doesn't come apart under engine vibration...
revo is probably the bes bet, but its all the same really. you will get use to the "shorten" shift so fast you would wonder did you do anything to the shifter at all...
say for the shorter shifter. that's noticeable i guess.
IMO, save money, stock is the best.
and forget those bushings, thats lame aluminium rings selling for a 20-30 bucks. sheesh.

The bushings seemed to have helped a little bit... I haven't slammed 3rd in quite a long time (the only hard gear for me), but it just may be me getting better
I have the DC adapter and thought for a while now that "it will come apart" "vibrate will losen it up" was a load of BS. That is until last Friday when it started making funny noises and I pull it apart and have the tighten the allen nut and replace a cotter pin. Now it's back to good, but I guess it's true that it is not going to be trouble free and you will have to maintain it. If I had to do it all over again I would go with the "new" Revo Technica SS. The old one did not relocate the cable attachement point, and was only a shorter stick. The new one relocates the attachement point and is shorter. Smoothing will feel different, still notchy, but not as much. And I definitely recommend the KumoSport shifter bushings too. Good luck!
