I have the Solo SS Adapter. It basically relocates the pivot point of the cable linkage to make the throws shorter. The weird thing is that it makes the gears that are towards you much more of a shorter throw than the gears away from you. I.E. It makes it so that when you shift to 2, 4, and R it's shorter than if you were to shift into 1, 3, and 5 from neutral. I have to measure mine to see how much of a shortened throw I got from it. I know that CivicBR900EX did that and he said it was shorter all around. However he also mentioned about that effect of having the gears near you feel much closer and stiffer.

that's a common oversite when installing it....apparently there isn't this problem with the DC adaptor from what i'm told it's notched out slightly differently than the SOLO...

the SOLO adaptor has quite a bit of play..and depending on how you put it on..if you didn't make sure it was sitting completely level and remained perpindicular to the shaft...you'd experience this problem...just takes a bit of adjustment / tweaking to get it to sit right so the distance between your upper row of gears and lower row of gears is equal. =o)

Oh yeah? Hum... I didn't know that. I'll have to do a little re-adjustment. Thanks toastyghosty!

I have the DC adapter and notice that 2, 4 & R are a little shorter than 1, 3 & 5. What is your opinion on a heavier shift ****. I am thinking about getting a 400 gram. Any advice? Overall I really like the DC adapter. It seems to go into 2 a little less notchily.
