People usually refer to two different types of intakes, the short ram intake and the cold air intake. The thing about the cold air intake is that its piping usually extends out of the engine bay and down into the front bumper area. The point of it is to pull in colder air as its name implies. Whether it is effective, I dont really know.

Zack.. depends.. if you have an Auto transmission Short ram intakes work better. If you have a 5-speed Cold Air intakes give you the biggest boosts... So far the Best performance wise is the Injen COld Air intake.. it's also a few $$ cheaper than the AEM.

short ram and cold air.. the difference is short ram will give u power 4500rpm and cold air is from the beginning.. short ram has better sound than cold air..but cold air give u 1-2 more hp.
I have the short ram injen intake. I know that the cold air intake goes to the side of the bumper but how does it get around the battery? I plan to use both short and cold air so when it's raining I can use the short ram you want to f*** up your ride by using the cold air and sucking up water into the throttle body.
