For those who have installed short shifter.
I was told by different people that when I install my short shifter i will have to take off my exhaust. Another person told me i will have to drop my tranny. What exactly do you have to take off to install a short shifter?

i'm not exactly sure if there's a difference between short shifters and short shift adapters, but what's available for our cars are short shift adapters that are just bolt on. all you gotta do is take off your center console to install it. 15 minute install tops.

Actually there is a short shifter and it is made by REVO. You don't have to take exhaust off or drop a tranny. Should take about 30 minutes to an hour to install and there is a dYI on this forum somewhere.

Dc Sports and another Company have Short Shifters for the 2001 honda Civic manual. Import Tuner magazine did a DIY tutorial for it on the 01 Honda Civic in one of their previous magazines. I can't remember what month but I will post it if I find the issue. Check their web sites and click around. I saw it their awhile back.

Also from what I recall you have to drop the muffler and take one bolt out. It's pretty simple after you take off the muffler. DC Sports want $125 for it and Neuspeed want $150 for it. I think I would rather take it to a shop, cut it rethread it and smile while holding the cash.
Hope this helps.
