update on gude
so I guess everyone knows about my thing with gude not working (the racing head) but they are working with me. I had a problem with the throtle body sticking at high rpms, and the tps being loose. SO they worked my old one for me and man what a differance. Before I put there head on I was getting (gtech) 122 avg. horsepower to the wheels, after install of the new head I was getting about 115 avg. now I just installed the new throtle body and I am now getting about 125 avg hp. SO hopefully they got their act together and I pray that the new head will give me at least 30hp to the ground, but I'll let you know when I get it installed (around the end of this month)
Glad to hear a little good news out of this. Hopefully, they take care of you, but I think you're still going to be dissapointed. For everyone else: don't buy from Gude-they ALWAYS have cust service/quality issues. I've seen it too many times on other web forums, and now here. Everyone here that's ordered from them so far has had problems.

Yeah but the point Redfog makes is valid. If you're going to sell something for 2-3k and then make claims about it, you had better made sure you did enough R&D on the ****. It shouldn't be that the customer is the guinea pig and you shouldn't have to go back and forth to get things even moderatley working. It's great that they are stepping up and taking care of these problems, but I wouldn't buy from them.
Well, here's an update on my end. Ok, I got my head from gude about 2 weeks ago and then when my mechanic was going to install the head, he noticed that there was no cam collar and that the cam could shift left and right about 2-3 inches. This is very bad, so i had to send back the defective head and my stock head so that they could do work on the stock head. Well, its the 4th of july, and i placed my order about 2 months ago and I have yet to receive a valid working head. But they tell me it will be shipped to my house tomorrow and Im hoping that everything will be good, ill let you guys know how everything works out.

Yeah I cant wait to see what the outcomes are as well.
I am looking at getting it done but I am going to have a local shop do the work, its just easier and cheaper that way.

it definitely sounds like I'm going to go local. I don't have to send my sh*t all the way to Cali. and it's going to be much cheaper. using mohawk's price, the difference almost equals a new clutch from ACT. hope everything works out for you guys and your gains are close to those advertised. for me, all these problems make me real hesitant to go with Gude.

I got a quote for haveing some of that work done at a local shop here and they quoted me $500.00 CDN for the Port and Polish.
But didnt reccomend me doing that if I was looking at getting a Turbo in the future.

guess what guys, i got my car back with the head on but theres ANOTHER FU*KING thing wrong, the throttle body is broken. First my head didnt have a cam collar because it was defective and then i had to ship that back, but now the throttle body is broken and it im thinkin its runnin too lean so thus, I have to either send the defective throttlebody back and/or wait for Gude to get one and send it to me and then send the defective one back. But none the less, the car runs with the defective throttle body and ill just have to wait to get that new one back. Also, even though its highly illegal in some states, im running with a test pipe that I made up, lucky i dont have emissions where I live. One thing that weird is that the check engine light is on, im guessin either from the defective throttle body or maybe the pipe. If its the pipe, no big deal, ill just get a simulator and all is well. Sorry about the lengthy post but its too early to tell if I got any gains from the head or not because it doesnt do it justice to get it dynoed now with a crappy throttle body, but ill keep you guys posted.
If your throttle body is screwed up, then your check engine light can be a direct result of the IAT (Intake Air Temp) Sensor located on the Throttle Body. If you car is running lean, then the excess heat from the motor could be giving the computer readings outside of the "normal" operating temp. matrix that is set by honda. If you would like, you can hold down the button that resets the mileage turn your ignition the the on (do not crank) postion and wait for the light to go off. I think that it takes 7 secs. to reset the comp. Then your MIL lamp should stay off. Hope that this tid bit of info helps.

hey venom,
so how is the difference in HP/Torque now that you have a functioning GUDE head installed? considerable gains or wut? and with that check engine lite, is it just ON? or is there something actually wrong with ur throttle body? a lil more detailed info would be great. thanks
