Rep Power: 0 rear section vs. cat-back?
Well, it looks like HKS has the last laugh again. James from product planning said that their Hiper cat-back would be out in June, now he is sayin that they are only doing the rear section because the full cat wont past CARB exemption of 95dbz, little power difference between the cat-backa nd rear section = save money, blah blah blah...
So, now i have a decision...do i:
1) Buy the HKS rear section portion, and have it with custom pipes
or
2) Buy a full cat-back exhaust (more than likely, Skunk2)
i love the look of the HKS hiper, but i want something that is going to give me optimal performance. Will i be laughed at for not having a full cat-back? Does it really make that much of a difference?
Money has no weight on the subject!! So please answer with an answer that would lean away from the "well i would do this...because it would save money." I dont care, im going all out on my car no matter the cost.
Thanks for the helps guys, and gals.

Rep Power: 0 yeah you wont notice a difference with a catback, at the most a catback will add like 7 horsepower to wheels, you wont notice a difference between a catback and custom piping. ive been planning on getting a catback but when i saw the HKS rear section for $288 on optauto.com i started thinkin about just doin that, cause it saves me a lot of money.

Rep Power: 0 i have an lx 5spd, when i first went shopping for exhaust, nothing was out catback yet, i did find a tenzo r rear section at one of the local shops. i bought that one intending just to wait for a full cat back, well, i've had the thing since, and i like it. i guess it's all about preference. eventually if there is something out there that i like cat back i'll get it. but i'm fine for now.

Rep Power: 343 just get the rear section, forget the custom pipping too! heh.
IMO, it really wont make a difference... not in our cars anyway.
but I guess if you want optimal performance slap on that custom pipping... just make sure u get it done at a good reputable shop... and it should be just as good as a full catback...
hmm. 288? whats it look like? i'm gonna go check it out.
