I was just on streettuners.com, and they showed a civic that was modified by a company called concept. The company claims to have gotten 170 horsepower out of our d17a2. I want to know how they got 170 out our engine because i sure wouldn't mind having 170 all motor. if anyone has any info please hook it up. thanks

i don't know about gude. i had a 97 dx hatch and i put in a cam from them in my dx motor and i dynoed it and only gained 1 hp. I also had intake header and exhaust on the car.

the gude package includes

-high compression cylender head (ported and polished, along w/ a 3 angel valve job)
-ported intake manifold
-bored throttle body
-camshaft

= big HP gains (compression is brought to 10.7:1, must run 92 octane)

I ahte when folks still use the term port and polish..there's no actual polishing done.. a polished head actually restrics air flow more than one that is simple left with it's little grooves after maching..

All they do is make the holes bigger and in some cases alter it's shape for better air flow..

What is a 3 angel valve job? Their camshaft package is also just a re-grind of the stock camshaft, right?
