Re: Hybrid 2003 Speedometer Gauge on a Normal Civic 2003, Fit ?
couple people have done it and there are special diagrams somewhere on how to rewire them, but a good amount of the functions will not work. you only get basic stuff like back light, tach, speedo, some warning lights, and thats about it. no coolant temp, battery voltage, or anything else hybrid related. basically you will have a partial working cluster because all the multiplexed functions require a hybrid ecu which cannot be used on a regular car. most of us here stick with the 03-05 lx/ex gauge swap (blue or red ring led cluster) which works perfectly all functions.
Re: Hybrid 2003 Speedometer Gauge on a Normal Civic 2003, Fit ?
blue and red ring clusters can swap back and forth with no rewiring. red ring is for 03-05 lx/ex coupes, and blue ring is for 03-05 lx/ex sedans. i would recommend getting the ex sedan cluster otherwise you will be missing certain warning lights like ABS and side-srs (if you have it). just look for a used one on ebay with similar mileage (it stays with the cluster, and a new one will have 0.0 miles). if you have an auto and dont want the parking strip, you can use a manual cluster too.
Re: Hybrid 2003 Speedometer Gauge on a Normal Civic 2003, Fit ?
i think gas still works. you should have enough to drive with, but no way to tell if the engine overheats. its been a while so you might want to search around for the old posts and see what was wrong. also you need a cluster with the proper mileage to match your car.
Re: Hybrid 2003 Speedometer Gauge on a Normal Civic 2003, Fit ?
you just wont have the side-srs light on the cluster. the side srs will still work however. im not sure when the light comes on, i think it has something to do with how much weight is on the seat?
Re: Hybrid 2003 Speedometer Gauge on a Normal Civic 2003, Fit ?
Has anyone got the hybrid cluster working on their cars? Like I got mines working everything and my car is a 2002 Honda Civic Ex sedan non-hybrid but yeah the temp and the hybrid features like the charge/assist and battery ain’t working right now I mainly just want to get my temp gauge to work any updates on that or did you not get it to work?
