Rep Power: 0 Alternative to PAINTING your drums...
I was flipping through a whole bunch of car mags at my local bookstore, and came across a small ad. (I have to hunt around for the web address, can't find it now.)
There are new drum COVERS that can totally cover up your ugly looking drums. (Sorta like a cap for your drums.) Think of a regular cake pan. Round, with sides. You take off your tire, plunk it on, put your tire back on, and voila. It still looks like a drum (i.e. no fake caliper or anything ), but it's nice and 'plain', with none of those ridges you see on drums. I remember reading it as being offered in anodized colors as well.
In any case, the site offered them for Prowlers only, but I'm sure applications for Hondas/Acuras should be soon. So if you're dreading the day when you paint your ugly drums, look around, there may be an alternative.
Come to think of it, they're similar in application to those FAKE cross drilled rotors that we had awhile back..... I guess....
Note: That pic is of a FAKE cross drilled rotor, but I'm sure it'll be similar in looks, but without the holes, and not as close to the wheel rim

Rep Power: 394 My drums don't have ridges and they're painted black from the factory. I don't think I would buy something like that. I'de rather spend an absurd amount of money and get a rear disk conversion off of an EL for example.

Rep Power: 0 Yeah im with avenger on this one, its obvious that its a fake, cause theres no caliper. But then again it could be a magical car and it stops all on its own.

Rep Power: 394 Not really any information. All I need are the parts. I think we'll need a new hub though, since that's where the caliper mounting holes are. So, parts list would be something like:
- new hubs
- new rotors
- new calipers
- new brake pads
- new brake fluid
You'll have to disconnect the brake lines, so you might as well flush the brake fluid and put in some new stuff that's rated to higher temperatures. I don't think it'll be tough. I wonder if a company out there makes new cross-drilled and zinc coated rotors for the Acura EL'c rear? Hum... Now that's something I'de like to know.

Rep Power: 295 Thoses things look so fake is not funny. Even if you coun't tell a difference, why would you have cross drill on the back and plain stock on the fron't?
I suggest saving your money.

Rep Power: 350 IM in the researching phase as well as a Honda Tech from my dealership about getting an rear disc conversion from the 02 SI. Not as cheap as the cover but it doesnt look as cheap as the cover either. No offense but why pose it? Just spend the money to get the rear done
