People w/ Skunk 2 Shift *****
I need a question answered from people who have the skunk 2 shift ****. I got this shift **** last week, and I love it. The weight on the shift ***** make shifting so much easier. Anyways, here's my problem and question. I can't get it to screw in so that when its tight, it ends up being straight.
I know I can tighten it almost all the way, and then loosen it a bit so it ends up being straight, but after a while, the shift **** begins to spin again. So I'm wondering if anybody did any mods to it so that the numbers sit straight up.
Has anybody tried a different nut?? maybe that'll work. What size is the thread of the shifter??
Thanks.

your supposed to put a nut under the shift **** to lock it up from spinning. or you can do what i did and stick paper between the treads enough so its really hard to spin because i lost the bolt. lol works like a charm.
I've got mine on(with the nut) at its perfectly straight. You have to tighten the nut with a wrench while you hold the **** in place with the other hand. It might take a few tries. After I figured out how to do it, it was easy the second time.
well i think all skunk2 ***** are like that for our cars atleast, where it's a tick off to the right from being center. you could use the locking nut to keep it straight, but i found that using the locking nut really raised the height of the **** a little too much for my liking, so i guess it's really up to you. do you like a really tall, long looking shifter?? or would you rather have a **** that's slightly off center? haha
like cinaibur said, just get the **** where you want and tighten the nut by using a wrench and bringing it up to the ****. so you're actually unscrewing the nut until it tightens up with the ****
