vis hood question . . .

looking into getting a cf hood (oem)
i'm interested in getting VIS and i have one question. ok,
actually 2.

1. i asked an ebay vendor who is selling VIS hoods, if hood pins come with it and if it's pre-holed for the windshield fluid? his response was
"pre-drilled washer nozzle holes. no pin needed, this is a vis hood, stronger then your stock." true or false?

2. what is the retail on the VIS hood?

any reviews and/or other recommendation would be great!!!

My g/f just bought one for her car for around 470 i think. That was shipped. YES, the holes are precut for the squirters which is quite nice. The only problem i see, is that the latch doesn't feel too extremely tight on the thing, and when the hood is all the way shut, if you pull very hard, you can make it move a little. Also its a bitch to close now. But other than that, very good hood. Just wish the bottom side was finished like the outside.

I highly doubt that a carbon fiber hood is stronger than your stock hood. It does weigh alot less than stock hoods. retail is always near 500 bux

i have been without hood pins for 2 years wiht no problems, and yes windshield squirter holes are pre-drilled.

but that doesnt mean i havent heard of ppl with vis hoods that have came unlatched.

i dont have pins on an invader hood, it is not as tight as a closed stock hood, but im not drivin 90+ so its fine as of now, also to close u hold it a foot above and drop and it latches fine, i got mine when my stock one was damaged, thanks to insurance, but around 500 and the holes for wiper jets were there already

It's not the best idea to drop your cf hood to latch it cuz the clear coat will crack. You should push down on it lightly to close it...

well the invader on the forehead of it makes a squeak and if i psh i dont want to crack it, its not a drop, its like a close but gentle, no damage from it.

The only way i can get my g/f's to close is to slam it. We adjusted it the best we could too. I have to have a hand on top of it and slam it down.

i've heard stories of the hood coming loose from the latch so they always recommend hood pins for any cf hood. i've seen pics and the damage is very bad when the hood pops up.
