Yes u have to do the throttle. And when you are wiring i had the same problem with it reseting. The two positives have to be spliced into the wire. You cannot splics into the wire you spliced fromt he Vafc2

It'll be interesting to see if it even works. Doens't work in my 5speed EX. When I hook up the vtec wires, my car goes ti hell in a hand basket. Or at least 1st gear taking off is great, then my RPM's wont let me go over 3 or 4k. (can't remeber which one.)
Ya mine did the same. Some of the models kick into a engine safe mode which wont let them go over 4 grand. Do not set the vtec and it will engage around 3100. I have not yet figure out how to bypass this. It just depens on which models you have

When I first got mine I tried to do it myself. I could not get over 3k without it lugging and cutting out. There are alot of different settings that come alopng with the VFAC II. GET IT DYNOED. It will not work right until all settings are set correctley. Now that it is set up correcley my engagment point is 2400. hahah BEAT THAT.

the thing you are describing happened to me, did you use wire taps? They don't make a good connection. I went back and soldered and now everything works amazing. BTW I figured the problem out.
