Need Front Struts
Need Front Struts
Hi,
I just got back from Brake Masters b/c I thought my rear drum brakes were shot, fortunately for me they just need an adjustment. On the down side I was told I needed new front struts and the cost was near 800.00, but since I am a student I can save 10% so like 720.00. Does this sound like a fair price. Seems way high to me. Anyway I was just curious as to some advice members on here may have that have had this done in the past. Please tell me some prices and where you had it done. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Any discount is great.
I've been told to go aftermarket if possible, but yeah, the struts are very very unreliable. I have had mine replaced. I think it was $760 without labor... I don't recall though.

Hate to be the "tsb" guy lol..but there was an issue with front struts, still is. If you go on a bump and hear like a knock, like I do when I go over a bump turning, heres tsb:

my frotn right strut makes that sound but when i brought it in for them it was already out of warranty and they wanted me to pay... I told them to suck it and i left it... Now I got an anoyying sound when i go over bumps..
well I've decided to do this. I'm going to get tokico blues and throw on some Tein springs with a 1.4 inch drop. I have friends who will help me do the install, so labor is free...eh maybe some food and beer. I priced it out and it'll cost me like 400.00 total and thats for all four struts, plus it'll help me get rid of those crappy honda springs, and now I can do all four. Thanks for the help though it is appreciated.

I know there was a recall on the front right strut on all 01 civics, and that might be the cause of the problem. I know it effected some 01 models before August production.
