my thermal catback just blew a hanger.

driving back from lunch, the vic sounds funny on the gas...like my tailpipe has a hole in it! i checked it when i got to the office, yep, blew a hanger, leaving a hole in the pipe, just behind the flange to the b-pipe. i don't remember hitting anything...

called the shop, they're looking into the warranty for me (thermal claims a lifetime warranty so still hoping). i'll post an update when i hear back. i don't really wanna buy a new enhaust.

You wouldn't have to buy a new exhaust anyway. Just have it rewelded...I would recommend finding someone who can TIG weld to make it look good for you if the warranty thing falls through.

heard back from thermal. they'll replace it but i gotta send in this one first. 1-2 weeks w/no muffler...they say they're going to check where it broke, find out why, and make it stronger there, to prevent this from happening again.

they say they gonna reinforce it too, i'm still deciding whether to send it in or trust a local welder.

$10 at carX. doesn't look like the best job, but certainly adequate.
