RSX Optional Shift **** Install

Hey guys I just bought and installed an RSX optional shift ****. It's the all metal one. I followed the instructions to install it but it doesn't seem to go on right. When I tighten it untill it is secure, the gear numbers are all crooked. Like off to the side yknow? I tried to loosen it a little so that they would straighten but then it **** is all loose and it moves. Is there anything I can do to make it straight? Thanks.

I have the Skunk2 shift **** and it came with a little nut that you use to lock the **** in the right position - it goes on before the actual **** itself. Did your shift **** come with one? If not, perhaps you can run out somewhere and get one - I don't have the thread specs on hand, but I'm sure if you search it's on here somewhere.

im putting it on the stock shifter which i thought was identical to the RSX 5M shifter. yea it came with a little nut and i put the nut on before the **** but it still doesn't go on straight for some reason. the gear numbers are off center. did i tighten it too much or not enuf or what? i didnt use a wrench to tighten it or anything. should i? i was thinking of putting in a washer in there between the nut and the **** to see if that helps. what do you guys think?

i got it from this site http://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnyside/jsp/home.jsp

the part number is 08U92-S6M-200A

Put the nut all the way down the shifter, then turn the **** as far down as it will go with the numbers straight. There's still room on the shaft, so turn the nut back till it's snug with the shift ****. Then tighten the nut back with a wrench. Done.
