The kit is very simple to install. I did it in under 30 mins. All that's basically involved is removing the center console. Here's the DIY for removing the center console (Very simple):

Then taking off the gear linkage to the stock shifter assembly, and replacing with the revo and re-attaching the gear linkage.
The extra things you've been hearing about are:
Grey upgrade kit: PM Grey, he's a member on here. This is only $6 and it's a very very GOOD kit!! Makes the shifter much more stiffer and respond better to quicker shifting. Kit includes 2 E clips, holds longitudial gear linkage better. 2 clips that replace 2 clips on the stock assembly that weren't meant to be re-used, and lastly, 2 rubber bushings that hold the linkage more firmly to the shifter.
Next you've been hearing about CapYoda's bushings:
PM CapYoda. For $16 you get 8 aluminum bushings that replace your stock rubber bushings under the shifter assembly. Again, a VERY GOOD investment. Completely removes any movements in the shifter assembly itself.
I have all 3 and am VERY happy with the setup

I'd suggest the upgrade kits even if you're not gonna be racing, it just makes everything flow better. They're real cheap anyways, trust me, you won't be disappointed. But ya, it should be a very simple install. Like i said, only took me 30mins and that was with no previous knowlege with what i was doing. So far i've taken the center console out 3 times. First to originally put the revo in. Second time to put Grey's upgrade kit in, and lastly to put CapYoda's bushings in. Each time my over all satisfaction increased. Just think about it, k?
