Wimpy Horn -- Need Help
The horn is soooo wimpy that no one takes me seriously. Can anyone give me (a girl with no mechanical experience) a tip on where or what kind of horn (preferably an airhorn) I could put into my car?
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!

I got the FIAMM low tone horn from pepboys for $13 and it sounds a lot better. I believe it's the same horn mentioned on the diy. No, it's not plug-n-play. It requires cutting the original connecter off and reconnecting the wires but it's not hard at all.

anyway, i did the horn setup on my buddy's sentra.. it was a little hard because we both had no idea what were doing. Don' try and do it yourself, get someone to help you, we got ours at discount auto parts.
ok, I'm not excited about the idea of having to take the bumper off to do this....
Here's another girlie question... my horn is used for my alarm... it beeps when you turn the alarm on and off.... if I replace the horn, is it going to be the new obnoxious horn that goes on and off when I set the alarm?

yes, your new horn will be the one that blows when the alarm goes off. i got after market fiamm horns at autozone, and i took the bumper off and ran a new line to the passenger side of the bumper to install a second horn. they sound great, and at about 130 decibels. i recommend this for you. find some one local who will help you with it. its really easy.

I have 2 horns, the factory one and an aftermarket one. I just made abracket and bent it up. Then bolted the 2 horns to the bracket, spliced the wires, bolted it back on and it was done. All you need is a piece of 4inch x 1 inch metal and drill 2 holes for the ground on each end for the horn to bolt to. but use the factory bracket to bolt it to the car.
So if I use a second line to hook up the new horn, do you leave the original horn in for the alarm? How do you honk the new horn?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand the factory horn! I want people to notice me when I honk at them for cutting me off -- instead of them laughing at me!!
