the only real difference is the passive vtec mode, basically it keeps the stock vtec engagement points... if you liek that kind of thing

VAFC = doesn't work on our cars (EX)
VAFC II = works on our cars (EX)

SAFC = works on our non-vtec cars (DX, LX)

whats the difference between the two that means the first version does not work. I had a V-AFC I installed without prior knowledge of this fact and have had problems regarding VTEC management as described. Engine warning lights comming on after VTEC engagement with vtm wire connected. Have since only been using it for a/f tuning (does the S-AFC offer anything over the V-AFC this respect?) with the vtm disconnected. No workarounds available?

Does the V-AFC II work straight away with normal wiring connections because i might consider a swop in that case (although is it really worth it just for sake of dropping the VTEC a few thousand revs and losing high end torque?)

Thanks

b careful man, seriously ive read a little more now and am almost certain u will have difficulties like i did in being able to control vtec parameters with the mark 1 unit. The VAFC2 with minor fiddles is the one to go for, im stuck with the vafc1 for now and you might as well spend a few more on the next version....

i know thats kinda answerin my own question but i think it makes sense.....plus its got badass leds that change colour when the vtec rocksnrolls!

I think that vtec engauges just fine where it is for boost, so I the vtec gives me problems then I won;t connect the Vtec line to the ECU and just use it as an SAFC
