Question Gtech Pro...i dont get it...

i really dont. how is it that the gtech pro can measure horsepower, rpm, etc if all you do for installation is plug it in to your cig lighter outlet?? can someone please explain, and if it actually is accurate or not.

Lets see if I can spell... It is basicly an accelerometer. It can not tell you RPM. I have one and it was cool for a while, but I got board of it. I go to a real dyno now.

Yep, its just an accelerometer. It can measure a change in acceleration rate, based on that, it can measure speed and distance. Thats why you have to start from a dead stop and level it to calibrate it. If used correctly, its pretty close to track timing, but the MPH will be off because it measures an instantaneous speed at the end of 1/4 mile, the track uses 2 timing lights 60' apart to record your trap speed. As far as HP, you need to be dead ***** on with the weight of the car... including your fat *** and the gas, oil, coolant, etc....
