Shifter knobs
Shifter *****
Sorry if it's already been discussed, I couldn't find any threads on it.
I installed a short shift adapter in my car and want the shifter **** to be lower to compliment the shorter throws. I like the stock one and checked it out and it looks like it's one large piece (the ****) glued on to another piece that is the threaded section. Has anyone taken it apart? I was thinking about trying to recess the adapter piece further into the head (it can go in MUCH further).
Also, are aftermarket ***** 'shorter'? I haven't found any I really like, but if modding the current one isn't an option, I'll look into it more.

If you can't find a thread on shift *****, short shift adapters or replacing the shift ****, you just never found the search button. There has to be HUNDREDS of threads on all of that.
Short answer. Short Shifter=short throw, shorter **** (many exist) = short throw illusion.

I don't need to know about short shifters. I searched for shift AND **** and didn't find anything that answered my question about modding the original or the shorter **** (thanks for the answer).
And I know it won't shorten my throw anymore (than millimeters at least), but I want a lower grip.

A shorter **** is just going to make is seem as if the throw is shorter. Your hand wont move as far, but it won't mechanically shorten the throw. all you gotta do is get a **** shorter than the stock one, and push it on all the way. I don't feel much difference and I knocked almost an inch off the height of the shifter by changing the ****. If you want to notice it, you gotta get a short throw.
Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I'm really diggin the sicsivic and 4bangin ones. Should I expect to pay between $60 and $100 for a ****? That's what I keep finding for prices and I was thinking they'd be a lot cheaper.

Skunk2 440g shift ****! I got one, it's tiny as hell (around the same size as the DC and those "type-r" knockoffs out there). But it's really nice and heavy. With my Revo and the Capyoda and Grey upgrade kits, the **** adds a VERY solid feel to shifts.

if you want brand name stuff like momo or razo its gonna run you about $50-$70 average. you could find cheaper ones i suppose but depends what brand you wanna get.
you should look into the rsx ****. not the stock one but the aluminum billet one. its sweet looking (5spd or 6spd). you could also get the stock clip with it so your boot doesnt sag. but it cost about $80 at the dealership. sorry not pics.
