Post Another Exhaust Thread

OK, yes I know this has been covered. But my questions till have gone unanswered. I have searched, but the back posts seem to contradict one another and most of the exhaust sounds have dead links. So here goes... Hopefully this is a link others can use to help them with their decions as well, instead of searching all the back posts.

I'm looking for an exhaust (if you can believe it) that does give some power (I know it's hards on the d17) and doesn't look like a coffee can/ tootsie roll. I also want the sounds to be on the low side. A turbo could be in the future so I don't want to have to buy another exhaust system when/ if it come into the picture. The ones I've been looking at include:

1. DC sports TCS- sounds great, little performance but 50 lbs. Heard that they have rust issues on the welds.
2. RS-R exhaust- sounds nice as well, light weight, but not much gain, but biggest concern is piping size of 2 3/8" Meaning if I ever want a turbo this woun't do much.
3. Magnaflow- haven't heard it but people say sounds good. Decent gains, but scrapes a heck of a lot, on cars not even lowered. The flanges that it comes with stink and people have to weld it.
4. Greddy Evo II- too big IMO- decent gains, but looks ackward. Still on the heavy side.version 2 is Stainless steel.
5. Neuspeed exhaust- haven't heard much about it. Looks nice, heard has a low sound at least at idle (do not know if gets louder), not sure of weight.
6. A'Pexi World- looks nice, but know nothing aout it.
Invidia and Skunk IMO are ugly and I hear that they're loud.

Info on these is greatly appreciated.

why not get a muffler you like and get 2.5" custom done. If you don't like that then I would go with RS-R that is close to 2.5 piping.

2.5" is a little big if youre running a naturally aspirated engine. 2.25" is what you need.

the thing is he was saying there might be boost in the future. But I do agree if there wasn't a turbo in the future I would go with 2.25". I would say his best bet is the rs-r because it is between 2.25" and 2.5", plus it isn't one of the mufflers that he doesn't like, and it sounds good, but in return it is one of the most expensive systems out there.

How about considering 5Zigen when it comes out, if it's not already out yet.

Your best bet is to get an Apexi N1 with custom 2.25" piping, sounds nice but is not extremly loud

I'm leaning towards the RS exhaust, but keeping options open
