I have a 8000k kit on my car and the only differences from it and a 6000k kit is the color. The 6000k kit is more white, while the 8000k kit is more purple/blue. I saw the 6000k kit on a customized integra. As with putting 8000k bulbs in a 6000k kit, it might not be a good idea because the ballast with the kit will only support the 6000k bulbs, it might burn up the kit with the 8000k bulbs, I really dont know for sure on that though.

from what i hear you can just swap out bulbs just fine.
umm putting in 8k bulbs is just wasted light. they look cool as hell cause its all blue but bad visibility. i have a 5k kit and its white with a slight blue tint.

The purple is because of the glass projector lens. It causes the white light to bend at certain angles, which causes the purple appearance, but only at certain angles. If you get the 8000K kit, it will be purple blue all the time. Completely different IMO. I'd stick with the 6000K, so you won't get much cop attention.

With my 8000k kit, I can see just perfectly, and have perfect visibility, and the color is awesome. It honestly compares to OEM HID kits with brightness, but better color.

the second night that I had the HIDs I was at a light with a s2000. When there headlights beam off the ground, it resembles the color of stock halogen headlights, when my hit the ground it is pure white with a hint of purple. When I compared the distance they were both about the same. My kit is bright as hell, if you dont believe me I will drive up to San Antonio and show you.
I have an 8000K kit myself, and I agree with street .. the 8K is NICE. I like the deep blue color, and I can see great at night with them. Actually I have a bulb out that I'm waiting to get replaced, and I'm still putting out just as much light, maybe even more, than people with 2 haolgen bulbs. I love it ...
FYI The 6000K does have a little better light output though, because it's whiter, but I wanted more blue color to mine so I went for the 8K ...
Scale:
2-3K = Standard halogen (Blech)
4-5K = Bright White
6K = Super Bright White, Bluish tint
8K = Bright Blue
10K = Purple

I knew there was someone out there that had a 8000k kit and knew that it was bright as hell, I think they look better than lower HID kits. Also if you look at a car with a OEM HID kit and look at the ground in front of it when it is driving or parked, you will notice that it reflects the color of halogen bulbs, mine reflects a whitish, purplish tint, looks so much better.

Hey guys,
Since you are all talking about HID kits right now...Where is a good place to still get them with all the legal issues going on and all. Are they still obtainable from some places? Or are they impossible to get?
Also I have projectors in my car (take a look at my ride to see which ones), and was wondering with modification, would the HID kit fit?

However, after re-reading your post, I don't know about the wiring for the ballasts. I'm pretty certain they won't, since H4 is a dual bulb (low and high beams) and H1 is a single. So my answer woud be probably not in that case. The voltage would be off as well if I'm not mistaken

Yeah, you just have to split the wiring. H4 has 3 wires, 1 positive low-beam, 1 positive high-beam, and 1 ground. Figure out which is the low beam positive and connect it with the positive in on the HID bulb. Then do the same with the ground wire and it should work. You'll probably have to splice your ground wire though, since you need 1 for low and 1 for high.

thats not true at all... both bulb styles come in HIGH AND LOW.. .and both come in just low...
and thats not true about the wiring... its 1 positive and one ground, with an ALTERNATING Ground and Positive on the 3rd wire
Jay- in order to use an H1 bulb on ur HID's u need to get a bulb that matches the valtage on ur bulbs now. other problem will be the connector... the h1 and h4 bulbs connect different ways.
i highly doubt u can do it.
im gonna laugh at you jay cause u cant see **** with projectors.. i used to have them.. so when it rains out.. and ur bitching that u cant see... I dont even come near me cause im gonna laugh my *** off
