Arrow 6th gen short throw shifter

Tonite i installed my short throw shifter for my 6th gen EX coupe, but with a lot of trouble and possibly a huge mistake..

the shifter went in fine (ours are different than 7th gens, but i'm sure many of you are familiar with it for it's quite common), but since the shifter makes the throw shorter...

OR IF THAT ONE DOESN'T WORK, SAME THING: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2429369666

... the area between the ball and the end where the bearings are is 2.5 times longer than stock. therefore, the area where the bearings are touches the exhaust pipe making it get in the way of shifting. here's the issue.

i pried* the exhaust pipe down and did an about two inch bend down of the exhaust to make room for the the shifter at the bottom. so now i have X amounts of pressure on my exhaust and i'm scared. reel scared. i'm assured that it's alright and we go driving enjoying the awesome short shifts... but the car doesn't drive the same.

the people i was with kept assuring that the exhaust pipes would bend itself into place and adjust to its change.

i drove 58.0 miles home with no troubles except a much louder and bumpier car. the car shakes a lil more and shakes a lot more at low RPMs.

should i be scared?

actually, i got the answer today. there's nothing to worry about (for those who understand what i did, cuz the description isn't that good) for now. the vibrating i'm getting is the piece i'm using to push my exhaust DOWN creates a connection between the car and exhaust. the exhaust normally shakes a good amount that is never transferred to the body . . . .

it's all SO unclear on this forum now. thank you.
