I have the escort 8500 and I like it, but what everyone has to know is the only time it will go off is if the cop is clocking people. Also sometimes cops wont start clocking people untill a certain point. They turn there radars on and off. My friends who ride in my car will see a cop and it will pass and they will say why didnt it go off, they dont use it all of the time. Honestly, radar detectors are good if the cop has it on all the time, but otherwise just go the speed limit, which I dont even do.

Yea thats called instant on radar...their newest technology where the gun is charged but not firing until it needs to be fired. Ive never come across instant on radar yet...or mabye I have but they are probably keeping the radar on.

If that is what it is called I run into that crap everyday, si it is hard to speed sometimes, because the cops here hide and then clock you when your 2 feet away. That is why there are soooo many courts in houston, and everyday they are jammed packed with smelly *** people.
