I need to know who makes a good CF Hood. If N E One knows where I can get a good one, not a cheaply made one, but a good one, please post. I have a friend who can get me an APC CF Hood but I am not sure about them since they sell at Pep Boys and Kragen. The hood price is $659 and I know you get what you pay for so is that good? That is why I am posting because I obviously do not know. Please let me know ASAP.
Thanks,
Crackerman

Try searching. I saw a big thread on this yesterday. APC sucks. Anything over three dollars for something they make is too much. Check out VIS, BKNW, DG, Kaminari, and Fiber Images. They're all good hoods, and I believe all less than $659.

VIS Racing CF Hood
Thats a cool hood if you want a factory look... but check the one that I have out... you might like it better.. VIS does good on its hoods... but don't buy a Body Kit from them... my front facia wouldn't fit.. Body Shops even refused to work with it.... heres a pic

I bought it for only $300 from Aerotrends.com during a sale they had... i don't know if they still offer that low of a price or not but I haven't ever seen that beaten.. I bought it back around xmas..... Its a sweet hood though....

Heres some info from what I read from the past.
Kaminari is probably the most expensive, but it is very well built. Many people don't like the black non carbon border on the edges of the hood.
Vis is a very common hood that people buy on here because it is probably the cheapest hood you can buy that is of decent quality. I like the invader hood myself for the different flare that it offers, but I heard that sometimes VIS hoods do not fit properly.
I have not heard any complaints about DG or Fiber Image hoods. They are of very good quality and priced pretty high, but not as high as Kaminari. I think I read some might prefer DG over Fiber Images back in the day. I think it was Grey the diy master said that...NorthEast hoods are okay, but they are probably the same price as DG or Fiber Images, and I think DG and FI are bigger names, so it's always better to go with the better name with car mods because then ppl will know what you actually have. I swear, I tell my friends I have B&G coilvovers, and they have no freakin idea...haha.
APC sux, everything they make is low quality mass production. So don't really get anything from them that is expensive or actually complex to make, because I wouldn't trust it.

But many of the better hoods out there use fiberglass, in their hoods from what I thought. It provides a good lightweight frame. I believe Kaminari also uses FB for their hoods. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Sunny Stylin...interesting info dragon. I'm in southern cali and haven't heard of them before. Wonder how much one would cost though. Must be pretty good if a person from Texas heres good stuff about a hood that is only sold to locals in Cali...haha.
