Plug and play headlights??

Hello,

I just picked up a clean low mileage 2006 civic coupe in wisconsin(hard to find clean with all our salt).
Headlights are sun faded and worn out(Yes I could sand and polish them).

What are the best Plug and play aftermarket headlights?
I like a LED DRL if possible, and halos can look cool on these also.

HID would be a bonus but for some reason i cant seem to find a plug and play with all these together, and Im not sure why.

I know HIDs require a balast, and its stupid that all the Halo and DRL led kids have loose wires, why couldnt they steal power inbetween the headlight connection?

Any pictures of what you have or links with brands or links to buy the headlights you prefer is much appreciated.

I am handy so any quality kits with directions would tempt me to do some wiring myself.

THANKS EVERYONE

Re: Plug and play headlights??

Cant believe with all the 06-11 civics on the road and everyone in this group, that 1000s of people dont have aftermarket headlights. Does anyone have forum links for aftermarket headlights. I think the stock headlights are garbade to be honest. A nice halo or DRL style is way cleaner looking to me.
Anyone????

For some reason, this civic forum is harder to navigate than the last 2 cars I had.

Check eBay, Amazon, carid, maybe even rockauto.
I personally don't like the look of most aftermarket lights, so I can't really offer my opinion

Re: Plug and play headlights??

Thanks, ive already spend a few hours looking around and cant seem to find any that are like WOW that ALSO HAVE GOOD REVIEWS. nothing worse than a good looking set with 2.5-3 stars in my opinion.
Im willing to do some work with wiring if there arent any good options. Looking at the spyder halo and the spec tuning halo style headlights. But they are still B grade to me, im just curious why people havent tried to build newer style looking LED or HID projection type on high volume production cars like these. Ohh well.

Anyone with aftermarket LED DRL, Feel free to contact me or post here.

Where are forum links for Photo galleries with aftermarket civics?
Hard to navigate on this forum so far for me.

Re: Plug and play headlights??

Output from unmodified aftermarket headlights usually suck, even if they use "OEM spec" reflectors or what have you. That's likely why you're not finding any "HOLY CRAP THESE ROCK MY SOCKS" kinda reviews. If you want HID with quality output, look into performing a retrofit. Then, you can find a cheaper pair of donor headlights and retrofit the HID guts into the low beam. Kinda case in point kinda deal. On my 2002 civic, had a TSX retrofit I bought from a user. The lenses yellowed and oxidized badly, so I decided to do my own. Bought a $125 pair of OEM style headlights. About 4 hours later (and a few days of fine tuning the setup), had some sick looking headlights with amazing output. @sdaidoji has those headlights now since my 2002 civic died. I have every plan in the world to retrofit my 2018 civic. If you wanna see what they look like, check out the "her baby blues" link in my sig

Here's a DIY guide for a popular HID projector of choice, the Morimoto Mini H1 projector from theretrofitsource.com

Definitely not PnP, not quite for the faint of heart, but the light output will make you wish you did it a long time ago.
