Hello all!
I recently swapped out my factory cd player to a kenwood single din one.
When i was wiring it I used a forum post from another site to guide me, the person had taken pictures and labeled each spot on the wire harness(when i first got the deck I just stuck the loose wires from it into the harness, I have since bought a harness to attach it more properly.)
On HIS diagram, no idea if it is correct or not, he had two of the wires labeled "Illumination"
He said they weren't used for the CD player.

Now I am wondering, are these wires really for illumination, and if so would it be possible to hook some LED's up to them and run wires to add a little light to certain areas of my car, that would only turn on when the car is turned on?

For the factory radio, yes.
If you really wanted to.
No. "Illumination" will only operate when the lights are on, and will be dimmable with the rest of the dash lighting.

Yes, there are two wires used for illumination, one is the + and one is the - wire.
