key battery replaced still wont start

key battery replaced still wont start

i just bought a 2008 honda civic coupe 2 weeks ago. I just got home and had to leave again. When i went to start the car i turned the switcg on n all the light came on normal but when i went start it everything went black. i had someone try to jump it thinkin i left something on, still nothing. came bck out 20 min later and the lights came on with the switch on but again everything went black when u turned it over, then i noticed the red led circle light continuously flashing on the dash. i changed the battery on my car keys and the secuirty syatem that wasnt picking up my key went off acted like it was fixed but now it still wont start n doesnt act like its even trying to start. but the lights in thr car and dash work fine. please help

but when i went start it everything went black.
Is it still doing this now?
Bad connections at the battery, battery terminals and cables, or negative cable attachment point on the frame is all rusted resulting in a poor electrical connection

also the starter may have failed.

So you're saying that the two problems could be unrelated. There was a thick power cable running from the battery to my alternator plus the main battery port I thought that was a power cord to A system that is no longer in the car so I told them to take it off could that cause the problem?

As soon as someone figures out exactly what the problem really is, you'll probably know if that was something important or not.
