Check bulbs, 2 separate filaments inside one bulb. (minus common ground to both)

Re: Break light on the driver passenger side does not illuminate

just to clarify:

1. when the lights are on the break lights are lit, but when i step on my break my driver side "break light" does not illuminate.

2. the passenger side and middle break lights illuminate when i step on the break pedal even if the lights are on and off.

i reseated the cable attached to the bulb assembly just for the sake of it - yet no luck.

i dont think its an issue with the fuse, break switch or the bulb itself.

im also in doubt if its a broken wire, why would the all break lights lit when i turn on the lights?

why does the driver side break light not illuminate when i step my break pedal?

any ideas will be appreciated...

thanks once again..

Re: Break light on the driver passenger side does not work

In the same bulb, you have a dimmer taillight filament that's on when headlights are on. And a 2nd brighter filament that comes on with brakes applied.

From what I can gather.... you have a open brake filament on drivers side.

Take the problem side bulb out and look through it, make sure BOTH filaments are intact between the ! ! <<- (across wires standing up inside bulb)

Compare to working side.

You should change all 3 at same time.

CraigW - thank you so much..i followed your advice and it worked. the passenger side rear break light bulb is the culprit .. change all the bulbs..
