alright so i made this for my civic to use with my carputer.
ive been using it for a few months now
however being the geek that i am i want to try somethign else

anyways i want to see if anyone wants to buy my screen with custom center dash piece.

specs
the screen is 7" Xenarc touchscreen with two RCA video inputs and one vga input there is also a touchscreen interface via USB.

i paid 450 for the screen alone and around 70 bucks for the new center dash and screen housing. it took me about a week to fabricate.

im thinking of getting at least 550 + shipping for this whole setup. you'll be getting the screen and the center dash piece. the climate controls are not included.
i plan on refinishing the paint before i send it out. i can paint it a different color if you want if you pay for the paint.

is anyone in the market for one of these?

i am interested, 'cause i am planning to make one for my car sooner or later anyways. if i am lazy, i would just probably buy that "new" unit that just came out tho.
well, i am not sure bout $550 tho. 'cause you can pretty much buy the stuff and make your own for that price for brand new unit.

anyways, let me know if you are willing to work on the price. if not, its cool.
and if you want to trade for anything that i am selling (in my sig) +/- cash, that would awesome too. hehe
and i can probably pick it up during the nor cal so cal meet.

yea i know 550 is kinda high
i can prob do 500 but im still deciding if i want to sell it

just putting it out there, im making custom dashes for 100 bucks plus parts and resin etc.. basically 100 for labor.

What else is required to get navigation? I really want to get a navigation system, and was thinking of the Panasonic N-AV1; but i want to see what other options are there.

How much would it cost for a "carputer" to go w/ your screen? (and how much would you charge to build one?)

i spent about 1200 in parts
i did it cuz its a hobby and i like to tweak things
if you just want simple navi then i woudl just go with the avic or something like that

this is just a screen...
so let's say you want to play dvd, then u would still need to buy a dvd player and plug it into the screen.

i deicded not to sell this unit at this time

however i will do fabrication work for it for 100 bucks
just supply all the parts or money for parts


i think its better if i let the buyer decide on what screen they want because not everyone has the same application

it handles it quite well
not as well as i would like but its bearable

im using the xenarc 700tsv screen
it has a brightness rating of 400 nits

Sounds like the 400nits helps a ton. I bet it makes your eyes bleed at night ! roflmao.

In all fairness, all touchscreens panels in general will have a glare problem to some extent. Xenarcs seem to be one of the better ones on the market.

yea i moved up from a 250 nit screen and the difference was like night and day

yes the xenarc at night will hurt your eyes
lol

i recomend xenarc or lilliput for screen
lilliputs are cheaper than the xenarcs but i heard build quality and customer support are much better with xenarc

the main thing i noticed between lilliputs and xenarcs are that lilliputs look like they were meant to take apart and fool around with, they arent assembled as well as the xenarcs
it doesnt really matter since in this case you will have to take the screen apart anyways

how much u charge for that lower peice thats holds your audio system?? no electronics of nothing, just that peice
