Two months after my first SR20DET was installed it went bad (after a teardown I discovered was in horrible condition when I received it). I hand picked my motor from Libero in Southern California. They had 8 S14 SR20DET motors in stock when I went to visit. I found the cleanest motor and then they did a compression test as I watched. All 4 cylinders were within 4 PSI of each other and put out close to stock readings. Upon further examination of the motor we found it still had the stock spark plugs (in excellent condition) and stock clutch disk which showed very little wear. While the exact mileage on the motor is unknown the motor looked like it had less than 30k miles on it. Since the motor was installed there has been an additional 20k miles put on it. The oil has been changed every 3k miles or less with Mobil 1 Synthetic. The motor and wiring were all prepared and installed professionally. Once the new motor was installed it was tuned by Jack at P1 Automotive (www.p1auto.com) and put down 287 hp on a Mustang Dyno (comparable to around 320 hp on a Dyno-Jet dyno) Since I have had this motor in the car it has been used for primarily highway trips and to and from work.
Condition:
The interior is in good condition. There are no stains in the seats or carpet. There are some scratches on the center console and the plate that goes around the shifter is missing (should be less than $20 at a junk yard if you decide you want one).
The paint is in good condition, when the brake light was shaved, side skirts, front bumper and wing were painted (just over a year ago) most of the body was repainted as well and the paint was blended. The front bumper and hood have a few small rock chips. The spoiler has a small bubble in the paint from a crack that was in the spoiler before it was repaired. I can have this repainted free of charge by request of the buyer. The intercooler and radiator have a dent in them due to a rock I hit. Neither of these affect performance and can only be seen from underneath the car. There is a ticking noise coming from the head when the car is warming up and quiets down when the car is warm,. Several people who are familiar with the SR20DET motor have concluded the noise is more than likely coming from one of the lifters but is a very common problem with SR motors and nothing that is causing damage or causing a loss of performance.
The wheels are in excellent condition. There are no major scratches.
The car is located at my shop (Urban Import) in Durham NC. Feel free to email me (michael@urbanimport.com) or call me at 919-383-4605 with questions.
The asking price is $17,500. The car is being sold as is. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I can help to make arrangements. Payment must be made via wire transfer or certified funds.

OMG that car is beautifuly!
i have always been a sucker for the 240sx with the sr20
thats like my dream car
like everyone said though, you can find a 240sx for much cheaper than that in most places even with the sr20det. i have seen some go for as low as 12k.

No offense but I don't think you guys understand what exactly is done to this car. Just to give you an idea, the wheels are around $2k, the suspension was $1600, engine management around $1300, front bumper $500+ paint, $150 signal lenses. I could go on forever on the little details. This isn't just a 240SX with an SR20DET in it, this has close to $30k invested in it.

whoa whoa whoa... i wasn't trying to be an *** at first, but being that ur a vendor and trying to tell us now that you have 30K invested into this car, i have to raise the
for that one, and i want to see you make an *** of yourself trying to list these magical 30K worth of parts, and don't kid yourself on claiming 10K up top on the SR20 swap cause none of us are buying it, and most of us are knowledgable enough to know ur full of **** when it comes down to 30K invested in this car... so please... enlighten me as to ur 30K worth of mods, and no.. installation doesn't work either

I don't have everything listed down to the penny but listing off $10k on top of the motor is no problem:
intercooler- $800
Wheels- 1800
Tires- 400
Power FC- 1300
Boost Controller- 300
exhaust- 450
cat- 125
manifold- 250
front bumper- 500 with shipping
corner lenses- 150
side skirts- 350
rear valences- 200
wing- 150
r33 seats-800
fans and radiator-500
coilovers- 1600
sway bars- 300
There is your $10k right there. Now add in the other things I didn't list, the cost of the car, the cost of labor, the cost of body work/paint, cost of the motor and that is where I got my price from. I understand a car is only worth as much as somebody will pay for it and since I have an offer for $16k it is obviously worth that much. If I wanted your opinion on the price I would have made a thread asking for it. That is all.

take a note: 30K invested into this car.... does not equal the price of the car include in the 30K, are you putting a car into a car? didn't think so, and yes you have plenty of mods, looks like a damn clean *** S14 too with the Kouki front end, very nice, but i'm just saying the car doesn't have that much going on and cars like that go for way less around here... i'm not gonna take up anymore space in ur thread... back on topic... sorry
