The 90 240... Stuff in CA18DET or an SR20DET, convert the front end and go.
an 89 would also work for either a Sil-eighty conversion or just a straight up 180SX (CA18DET either way).
They're cheap, light and can be made very fast and drift happy.

i have always liked bmw cars. they are so smooth and have just so much more pickup then every thing else i have ever driven. I also find them very confortable for a bigger size man so that was a plus at least for me.
on your list you only have a 3 series i would go with a 5 series or just pick another car. (never been a fan of the 3 series but to each there own)
edit due to i just remeberd why else i like bmw cars.
i have goten it up to 130 and had no problems and the ride was still very smooth and i felt i had controll the whole time. I have also goten a 5 series air born going 110 off a hill and no problems there. The only problem i had with the bmw is after a while the breaks would heat up and start to squeek at every stop during long hours of crusing. this was a 99' 528i

I agree with boilermaker, but stay away from the 89's...they're much harder to drop an SR20 powerplant in...my recommendation is to go with an OBD I setup on an SR20 fastback style, and keep the retractable headlights. Don't do any conversions, as it will draw attention to you. Just do a sleepy eye look, and destroy everyone in the corners and on the straights. The 95 is a good choice also, but more eye grabbing, and weighs substantially more. If you want the ultimate drifter, sleeper, and quarter mile car, I say get the 1990 240 SX with the SR20DET....just save some money for plenty of spare tires.
BTW...get the fastback style, not the coupe. It weighs a bit less and looks better IMO.

Oh yeah btw...the 1995 240 SX comes stock with (I forget the code--it's not worth knowing) the pathfinder motor...so don't expect much from it stock...it'll drive like an SUV.

E30!!!!!! preferably the M3 (If you look hard enough you can find one for under 10,000)
Seriously, the 3 series (E30 chassis) is a great little car. well handling stock, easy to upgrade, only problem with them is that they are getting old so more parts are going to need to be replaced....

It's acutally pretty simple. If your setting up your car to drift, you should automatically look towards the 1990 240 sx or the 1995. Also, i saw that someone metioned the "truck" motor that came with all U.S. Spec 240's. It's actually not quite bad, it's a KA24 motor(155 bhp), and, while lacking in the power numbers of the J-Spec SR20DET (200 bhp for s13), it has globs of torqe, and that can aid you in braking loose. If your gonna drift, I'd advise you STRONGLY to go with either of the 240sx's. Even if you don't drop in an SR20 (which you absolutely should, considering 240's are dirt cheap), their engines are plenty powerful for a new drifter (which I assume you are). Also 240's have so many parts avaiable for them (someone mentioned Nismo, which in my view is the greatest OEM option equipment manufacture ever), that it would be no problem for you to build it tom your specs.
