Door jamb chime switch broken and fallen down inside

2002 Civic LX sedan. I took it to a general garage and the mechanic fished around with pliers, but I think he pushed it down inside the door even more. He said he'd have to take the jamb apart. That sounded like more than I wanted him to get involved. Is there an easier way. I used some thin forceps, but I couldn't get the switch out of the hole. BTW - I'm an older woman with not much mechanical skill, tools or knowledge.

don't know if there was metal, but there are magnetic reacher tools in autoparts or hardware stores
