My 6.5 front speakers stopped working, bought some new ones. Took my door panel apart and then this Crossover popped right out. (I didnt know what a crossover was until 5 minutes ago).
I understand now that it is used to separate frequencies as the car has tweeters installed as well. Makes sense. What I dont understand is the wiring method.
In the picture, the tweeter has one end hooked up to -3db while the other is dangling.
In the picture, the 6.5 door panel speaker is hooked up to WF + while the other leg is hanging.
I currently have zero idea as to how this crossover should properly be hooked up. Any help please?
INS = Where your Getting your Power From
WF = Woofer (In this case, my 6.5 door speakers)
TW = Tweeters
0, -3, -6 DB = Decibal rating for your Tweeters, Depending on how loud your tweeters are you can adjust the DB's. Mine are super loud so I placed the wire on -6.
I also want to note, if you accidentally cross your negatives with positives on your speakers they most likely wont blow up. You'll be ok.
I didn't answer bc quite frankly, I didn't know. Just for clarification, the woofer connections are input into the crossover, correct? And the IN +/- is just some rando 12VDC connection you found (presumably same circuit as from the head unit so it's powered off when the radio is off?)? I'd imagine the power connection is basically like a power supply wire for an amp

i don't think it's 12v powered, simple ones generally aren't
+/- IN sound input from the radio
+/- W woofer out
+/- T tweeter out w/3 cutoff choices (guess)
